Meet Kali – Our Spirited “Class Clown” with a Heart of Gold

Kali is the life of the sanctuary! This vibrant Devil’s Garden BLM mustang has enough personality to fill the whole barn and keeps everyone smiling with her playful antics. Gathered as a yearling in 2000, Kali has lived a remarkable life, but in 2015, her world changed. After developing a stifle issue that ended her dressage career, her owners faced the heartbreaking decision to put her down.

When we were contacted about Kali’s situation, we couldn’t stand by and let that happen. We welcomed her into our sanctuary family, and honestly, life at EAP hasn’t been the same since—she’s a joy to everyone she meets!

Kali’s mischievous side is legendary around here. With a knack for breaking into the feed room and opening locked doors—earning her the nickname “Houdini”—she keeps everyone on their toes. Her playful pranks and clever antics are a constant source of amusement, proving that her spirit is as lively as ever.

Despite her playful tricks, Kali is also the kind of horse who thrives on attention.  Whether it’s hanging out in the barn breezeway while we do our barn chores or simply soaking up the love, Kali is happiest when she’s surrounded by people.

While she can no longer perform the athletic feats she once did, Kali’s mischievous, affectionate spirit shines bright every day. Now, she’s looking for a sponsor to help support her in her golden years. By sponsoring Kali, you’ll help provide her with the care she needs to continue being the heart and soul of our sanctuary.
