Joe is one of our most loved residents. Once a kids horse, Joe was sent to auction twice before he was purchased by a kill buyer and ended up on a feed lot in WA. Joe was never supposed to be advertised or available for sale on the feed lot, he was going straight to slaughter. As fate would have it, Joe’s picture was sent to us by accident and was 0ne of the saddest horses we have seen.
After much pleading, we convinced the feed lot owner to sell Joe to us and we brought him home to California. Joe has had many trials and tribulations since arriving at EAP, but nothing keeps this guy down! Our vet affectionately refers to him as “Lucky Joe”. When people ask us about him we tell people that he is “the best puppy we have ever had!”
Joe is the sweetest, most “in your pocket” horse there is. He will follow you around all day long and “dances” for his scratches. He wants nothing more than to be loved on and is happy to be brushed for hours!
Joe is currently available for sponsor or an on-site lease. He is a wonderful kids horse. Don’t let this guys age fool you..he had TONS of spunk and spirit left in him.
